An exciting and excellent economic viable farming enterprise has come available! The entire farm is well-planned, well-maintained, and well-managed.
Very few things come close to the tranquillity and scenic setting of the Camdeboo. The Camdeboo is well-known for its 'horseshoe' layout situated in one of the most sought-after Karoo regions of South Africa. This pristine region welcomes true livestock and/or game farmers or nature lovers with a farming experience comparable to the real unspoilt Africa.
This 3037-hectare farming enterprise consisting of 7 title deeds lies in the heart of this region and is situated a mere 40 km from Graaff-Reinet.
The fauna and flora are typical of this type of topography and natural vegetation, making this farming enterprise perfect for livestock farming. It is currently being utilized as a cattle farm, but it would be equally suited for game.
When the camp layout and farming infrastructure was planned, the diverse veldt types, the topography and variety of vegetation were all considered. The topography consists of plain flat areas, apron flats, mountain slopes and a mountain plateau. The vegetation on the plains are typical Karoo shrub, wild pomegranate bushes which blooms yellow after the first rains, various sweet grasses with prevalent Acacia (Akasias), Karsie (Kruisbessie) trees and Kuni-bushes (Koeniebos). The apron veldt is also covered with Karsie (Kruisbessie), Jacket-plum (Doppruim) and Karoo Num-num (Karoo-noemnoem) trees with typical Karoo shrubs, and sweet grasses. The mountain slopes and valleys are covered with prevalent Camdeboo stink wood (Camdeboo stinkhout), wild olive (Olienhout), Karee (Karee) and sweet Acacia (Akasias) trees with ticket and taller shrubs as well as various sweet grasses. The plateau on the mountain is covered with quality red grass (Themeda Triandra) and various other sweet grasses due to the higher rainfall on the plateau. The average rainfall is 645 mm per annum (previous 10 years average) and the carrying capacity of the farm is 1:8 LSU. Both is above average for the region. The veldt is currently in pristine condition due to good veldt management.
The usual plains game together with free roaming kudu are found in profusion in this habitat. Game breeding, hunting, and viewing are becoming increasingly popular amongst individuals who love the great outdoors and therefor operational guest farms that cater to local and international tourists are in demand.
