5 Unusual Tips for Your Cleanest Kitchen Ever

The kitchen is everyone’s favourite room in the house.

Why? Duh, because that’s where the food is!

Everyone seems to circulate to this room whenever there is a party, a get-together or just a normal family lunch taking place. It is also for reason that the kitchen is always the messiest room in the house.

You might already rely on nifty cleaning tricks like vinegar and water to wipe down your countertops, but there are even more tricks that can help you make your kitchen the cleanest on the block.

And the best part? They are super easy and affordable.

Check out these tips for the cleanest kitchen:

#1 – Some ketchup with your kitchen?

We all know that ketchup is a burger’s best friend, but did you know that it can be your kitchen’s BFF too?

You can easily tackle tarnish on brass or copper pot bottoms by wiping it with good old tomato sauce.

The acid in tomatoes works magic on those rough, discolored areas and brings them back to life. Simply squeeze some onto a cloth and buff, then rinse it with plain water and leave it to dry.

For baked-on grime on your pots and pans, apply ketchup with steel wool and use some elbow grease to get it off.

#2 – Did somebody order a glass sandwich?

If you have ever felt the panic of breaking a glass into a million little pieces, then this is the perfect tip for you.

When glass shatters, we almost never pick up everything and it becomes dangerous to clean. Soft, spongy packaged bread works like a magnet to pick up even the smallest slivers of glass.

All you do is place a slice over the accident and press lightly, then discard immediately. This way you don’t have to worry about the kids stepping on the unseen glass with their bare feet.

#3 – What’s cooking, good-looking?

Isn’t it amazing when you made a delicious dish and you get to eat the leftovers the next day?

We are absolutely here for that!

The only disadvantage here is the discoloration that is left over in the container, even after you’ve washed it. Luckily, this trick will let you leave your woes at the door.

Before you store food like tomato sauce, stews, or soups, simply spritz some cooking spray into the container before inserting the food.

This way your discoloration is a thing of the past and you can enjoy your leftovers without any aftertaste!

Tip #4 – Aaaand marker!

If you think that your wooden table is ruined because there is a permanent marker mark on it, think again!

This should get you smiling in no time: simply squirt a blob of toothpaste (not gel) onto the mark, wait for a few minutes and then rub it with a damp rag before rinsing with a clean rag.

It might take a few attempts of this process, but you will definitely be able to remove the mark without damaging the finish. You can also use this method to get rid of the nasty black scuffs on vinyl flooring too.

Tip #5 – You spin me right round, baby, right round

Ah, the blender: one of life’s smallest pleasures yet such a nasty business to clean.

It is almost impossible to get it spotless after you have used it!

But, of course, there is a simple solution to this too: after it has been used, rinse out the jar, add dish soap and water, and place it back on the base. Turn on the blender and give it a good whirrrrrr!

Watch as the gunk that would normally cling to the blender, disappear right in front of you.
