Two perennial rivers form deep gorges that cut through the reserve to merge into one. The Lydenburg waterfall is located at the top of one of these gorges. The reserve is home to many species of animals and birds including the rarely seen red leopard. The reserve is privately owned by 125 shareholders and does not hold any commercial lodges. Each shareholder owns a one hectare, full title property carefully located within the reserve to ensure total privacy and immersion into nature.
